Hello all,

I just booked a 9-hole golf outing for members of OGO to play at Morgan Run on Veterans Day with a shotgun beginning at 2:30pm on the North Course followed by a banquet to “Salute” them on Veterans Day.

Many Americans mistakenly believe that Veterans Day is the day America sets aside to honor American military personnel who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained from combat. That’s not quite true. Memorial Day is the day set aside to honor those that paid the most ultimate sacrifice.

Veterans Day, on the other hand, honors ALL American veterans, both living and dead. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for dedicated and loyal service to their country. November 11 of each year is the day that we ensure veterans know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in the lives to keep our country free. Here at Operation Game On we try to show honor to our troops every day, but we will hold a special fun outing November 11th at Morgan Run.

We have 28 past and present OGO members signed up already. Since some of the troops can’t play a full 18 due to their injuries, it was best to go 9 holes only and not leave anyone out. In addition, by 11-11, we will have lost daylight savings time.

There will be a dinner buffet afterwards that will include the wives of our warriors as well. I would also like to give them a little something so if you have any ideas, please pass them along to me. I do hope that some of you can play and join us for dinner.  Dinner will require a $25 fee (payable to OGO) for anyone not active military or a Veteran.  If you should have any questions, suggestions, and want to attend, please give me a call or email me.

We’re looking for a special Veteran’s Day sponsor of $1500 for this event so we can really show our guys a great time. This would be fantastic!

Let me know if you’d like to be involved!

Tony
