“The uniqueness of our Little Heroes program is that it is the first to offer free golf lessons to the children of military personnel and members of the Armed Forces YMCA,” states Tony Perez, founder of Pin Pals Junior Links. The program, called “Little Heroes”, will begin with the military children whose parents are stationed in San Diego. According to Paul Steffens, Executive Director, San Diego Armed Services YMCA, “introducing golf to young military children affords them another positive choice in life that helps build a solid foundation for their future.”

In partnership with The Del Mar Golf Center and the Armed Services YMCA of San Diego, our goal is to provide free beginner junior golf lessons for boys and girls (ages 7 to 17) whose parent(s) are active military personnel and perhaps may be in harms way. All lessons are free and conducted by PGA teaching professionals and will meet once a week for eight weeks four times per year. The lessons will cover:

  • The Basics of Putting
  • Chipping
  • Pitching
  • Full Swing
  • Rules of Golf
  • Golf Etiquette

Starting October 20, 2011, the clinics will begin each Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm.
